Has the incompetency of President Barack Obama made him a laughing stock already? We haven’t even finished the fourth week of his Presidency yet.
DaveG at Where’s The Change Blog is advocating openly mocking Treasury Secretary and Tax Cheat Tim Geithner by stamping dollar bills with the words “TAX CHEAT” in red letters for each bill Geithner’s signature appears on.
I LOVE This idea!
In fact, The Huffington Post says that Geithner’s briefing Monday was met with open laughter:
Administration officials were greeted with sarcasm and laughter Monday night when they briefed lawmakers and congressional staff on Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner’s new financial-sector bailout project, according to people who were in the room.
The laughter was at its height when Obama officials explained that the White House planned to guarantee a wide swath of toxic assets — which they referred to as “legacy assets” — but wouldn’t be asking Congress for money. Rep. Brad Sherman (D-CA), a bailout opponent in the fall, asked the officials to give Congress the total dollar figure for which they were on the hook. The officials said that they couldn’t provide a number, a response met by chuckling that was bipartisan, but tilted toward the GOP side.
NOT a good sign there.
Yet Geithner is not alone in his Tax troubles. Michelle Malkin wonders aloud if ANYONE in the Obama Administration knows how to pay their taxes?:
Crikey. Three weeks in, and this administration is a complete laughingstock. More tax troubles. More nanny problems. More withdrawals. This time it’s Obama’s Chief Performance Officer.
Yeah: Chief Performance Officer.
Obama Nominations Blog has a full listing of all of Obama’s goofy nominations. One has to ask, Is Anybody Vetting These morons???
In normal times, this would be a ludicrous question. But these are not normal times. They are times of great danger. Today, the new US administration can disown responsibility for its inheritance; tomorrow, it will own it. Today, it can offer solutions; tomorrow it will have become the problem. Today, it is in control of events; tomorrow, events will take control of it. If he fails to act decisively, the president risks being overwhelmed, like his predecessor. The costs to the US and the world of another failed presidency do not bear contemplating.
Why then is the administration making what appears to be a blunder? It may be that it is hoping for the best. But it also seems it has set itself the wrong question. It has not asked what needs to be done to be sure of a solution. This timidity is depressing.
Day By Day Web cartoon is referring to Obama this morning as “President Clouseau.”
Oh, I don’t know about “depressing.” I’m laughing my butt off right now.
President Barack Hussein “Clouseau” Obama. The Affirmative Action President.
