Got a note on Twitter this morning from a lady I’ll call Mrs. Troy to protect her identity. She’s one of the organizers of the Lake Chares LA Tea Party, whose web site is HERE.
I’ll quote her e-mail here so you get it from the horse’s mouth:
Last night, 4-14-09, around 7 pm, my 15 year old teen son answered our land line which we seldom use, and a woman asked him if anyone lived here under the age of 17, who was not immunized. Now, who would even THINK that…or care? Her accent was notably Northern, by the way, and she sounded (ethnic — withheld to prevent identification.) He told her we weren’t interested, and hung up as if she were a solicitor.
We are home schoolers, and our family took it as a warning threat that he could be removed from our home, because of our involvement with the Tea Parties. I’m not scared, but it does seem the call was an attempt to let us know that SOMEONE thought they knew our “secret”.
Thanks, and have a great TeaPartying Day!
Okay, First, the caller assumed all home-schoolers are not immunized- a fatuous assumption at best. (And they were fishing — they had to ask if anyone there wasn’t immunized.)
Second, they were able to find out their home land-line phone number. There are “over 100” results for this persons last name in the Lake Charles phone book; two specific results for this person’s name 9neither of which is theirs, btw); and their phone number is *not* listed at the Tea Party site.
Third, the phone caller was not a local. She had a decidedly “northern” accent, and sounded like she was a member of an ethnic group; an ethnic group strongly associated with ACORN.
That last one is supposition on my part. But ACORN is holding counter-demonstrations to Tea Party functions today, as well as pledging to infiltrate ongoing Tea Parties. (We have “stealth security” set up for that in San Antone.)
ACORN is on the move. Obviously we’re starting to get to them!
See you at Alamo Plaza. Pictures here when i get back.
