I saw Pamela Geller at Atlas Shrugs Blog on Sean Hannity’s show tonight talking about this:
Hate crime — hate is in the eye of the beholder, eh? And if you are a Democrat – you protect child rapists, but G-d forbid you protect the military.
Hate crime legislation will be used as a tool against the right. Period. A crime is a crime. WTF is the “hate” bias? Will those screaming for the death to Jews at those demonstrations in January be prosecuted under these laws?
Who are these people? Good is evil and evil is good. Good luck with that super majority, America.
Redstate has the military angle HERE:
During a House Judiciary Committee meeting, Congressman Steve King (R-IA) offered up an amendment to the hate crimes bill to exclude pedophiles from being a protected category under the hate crimes legislation.
Every single Democrat voted it down.
In the same meeting, Congressman Tom Rooney (R-FL) offered an amendment to include veterans as a class protected under the hate crimes bill. Not only did the Democrats vote it down, but Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz attacked the Republicans for even thinking veterans might need protection under hate crimes legislation. After all, who but Democrats in Congress hate veterans?
And Worldnet Daily shows how the “Pedophile” angle is not merely an empty fear:
The leader of a pro-family organization says families across the nation need to contact their U.S. senators now to try to derail a legislative plan that already has passed the U.S. House and is being awaited by President Obama – after a Democrat confirmed it would protect “all 547 forms of sexual deviancy or ‘paraphilias’ listed by the American Psychiatric Association.”
WND columnist Janet Porter, who also heads the Faith2Action Christian ministry, today cited S. 909, dubbed the “Pedophile Protection Act,” as an extreme danger to America.
It specifically denies such protections to other targeted classes of citizens such as pastors, Christians, missionaries, veterans and the elderly.
One of the moonbat Democraps supporting this bill made a comment shown on the Hannity show to the effect that she didn’t see the need to include the military in these protections, as “they are not part of an easily identifiable class.”
Oh, really?
I’ve been told to get my “dumb solider ass the f*** back on base” when I lived off-base in an aprtment in Georgia — identified by nothing more than my military haircut. I’ve been spit on in airports by livid moonbats who screamed “baby-killer!” as i walke by in my dress greens. (And we’re talking mid-1980’s here — not Vietnam era. Go Figure.) I was even shot at once as I ran in my “ARMY’ grey t-shirt by a couple of dumbass hillbillies in Kentucky.
All because I served in the military. Are those “hate crimes?” You bet your ass they are. Are they protected as such?
Hell No.
But, see, here’s the sad part: I reported all those crimes, which are assaults. Not one police officer did a damned thing about them. THAT is why they want to introduce Hate Crime legislation: to get cops to actually do their jobs.
Yes, I understand cops are overworked. Me, too. Yes, I understand the criminal justice system is overburdened. I could give a crap.
The system is seriously broken. Cops won’t do their jobs because judges won’t let them. But the answer is not more laws; it’s getting judges to do theirs in the first place.
Isn’t it? (Yes, it is.)
Note to Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman: Screw You, too, witch.
