What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.
~~Oliver Wendell Holmes
Victor Frankl, a survivor of the Jewish death camps in Germany during World War II, says we detect rather than invent our missions in life.
I believe that each of us has an internal monitor or sense, a conscience, which gives us an awareness of our own uniqueness and the individual contributions we can make. Everyone has his or her own specific vocation or mission in life.
King David Wrote the 51st Psalm as he lamented the death of his son with Bathsheba, and recognized his sin in murdering her husband on the battlefield:
Psalm 51:10 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
15 O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise.
17 The sacrifices of God are [c] a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.
