Was having coffee with my buddy @NaiveAbroad this morning. We were talking about the incredible response to the articles I posted this morning about the witch from AARP shutting down the question-and-answer session. I was telling Marcus how the #AARP tag was taking off on Twitter, and he mentioned that we needed the functional equivalent of a hashtag to remind our legislators that the 2010 elecions are coming soon.
And then we had a brainstorm. This is what we came up with:
- We’re going to start appropriating the #2010 hashtag on Twitter for our posts regarding the 2010 election. It’s a nice, non-threating way of adding the entire thought that “the 2010 elections are coming, Congressman!” (Or Senator, as the case may be.)
- We’re going to start encouraging people to tell their Congressmen and Senators when they call their office “2010.” That’s all — just “2010.” It’s precise; it’s non-threatening; it’s a promise.
- And I’m going to start using this logo for the 2010 Project. Permission to re-use given as long as the logo is not altered in any way, and credit is given.
I’m hoping to get a few more questionnaires back soon. I’ll keep you informed.
