UPDATED BELOW: Yale Murder Suspect Ray Clark may have killed Annie Le because “she mis-treated the lab mice” – was PETA involved???
The U.K. Guardian had this story up while the American news Services were still scrambling to determine how they’ll “spin the story”:
Police in New Haven have charged the laboratory technician Raymond Clark with murdering Annie Le, the Yale University student found dead this week.
The warrant charging 24-year-old Clark is sealed and police have declined to discuss the evidence against him. But officials have previously indicated the case turns on DNA and other forensic evidence collected from a utility shaft behind a wall in a research facility where Le was found strangled, four days after her disappearance.
Strangulation is a very personal way of killing a person. It usually indicates a crime of passion; and a spur-of-the-moment crime.
The New Haven police chief, James Lewis, told reporters: “This is not about urban crime, it’s not about university crime, it’s not about domestic crime, but about workplace violence, which is becoming a growing concern around the country.”
Clark worked as a custodian at the laboratory where Le conducted research. One of his duties was cleaning the cages where the experimental rodents lived, an occupation that is likely to have brought him into contact with Le.
Friends and neighbours described Clark as an animal lover who lived with his girlfriend. “He was a nice kid, he was a jokester, everybody knew him,” high school friend Lisa Heselin told CNN.
Fox News’ Rick Leventhal says that Clark has just been arraigned in court, and did not enter a plea. One off-camera source said Clark may have killed Annie Le because “she mis-treated the lab mice.” Clark appears to have felt the mice’s cages were too close together and they were not being given proper attention and food and water for their needs, and had complained about this several times.
The question will be asked — and I’m asking it right now –was PETA involved??? Was he a member of PETA? Was he an Active member of PETA, or just a contributor to the cause? Was he on PETA’s mailing list? Did he attend any PETA functions or rallies?
Did Ray Clark Kill Annie Le over the way she treated Lab Mice?
Breaking . . . . Gawker notes that:
- “The lab has been a target of PETA in the past, and it could prove consequential in the case.”
- In the e-mails, Clark is said to criticize Le for not adhering to the protocols for tending the mice kept in the basement as part of her lab’s ongoing experiments.
