Oh, this is just . . . precious. My wife is laughing so hard she’s snorting.
Very likely you already know that Rush Limbaugh was invited to be an investor in the St. Louis Rams Football team. Being a big NFL fan and an Missouri Native, Limbaugh was happy to get involved and try to give something back to his home state.
almost immediately the howls of dissent began, with several professional sportswriters (who are almost uniformly a liberal lot (i.e., see “Keith Olbermann”) as well as the head of the NFL Player’s Union, whom it later turned out had actually been part of the Obama Transition Team.
Oh yeah, nice impartial group there.
Eventually several faux quotes attributed to Limbaugh were circulated on the Internetand Limbaugh was dropped from the Investor’s Group due to the controversy. Even MSNBC’s and Air America’s Rachel “Mad Dog” Maddow was caught repeating these quotes, and when Libaugh threatened Legal Action, several newscasters were forced to apologize.
[T]he media elicited comments from the likes of Al Sharpton. In 1998 Mr. Sharpton was found guilty of defamation and ordered to pay $65,000 for falsely accusing a New York prosecutor of rape in the 1987 Tawana Brawley case. He also played a leading role in the 1991 Crown Heights riot (he called neighborhood Jews “diamond merchants”) and 1995 Freddie’s Fashion Mart riot.
As I explained on my radio show, this spectacle is bigger than I am on several levels. There is a contempt in the news business, including the sportswriter community, for conservatives that reflects the blind hatred espoused by Messrs. Sharpton and Jackson. “Racism” is too often their sledgehammer. And it is being used to try to keep citizens who don’t share the left’s agenda from participating in the full array of opportunities this nation otherwise affords each of us. It was on display many years ago in an effort to smear Clarence Thomas with racist stereotypes and keep him off the Supreme Court. More recently, it was employed against patriotic citizens who attended town-hall meetings and tea-party protests.
New York Race-baiter and gadabout Al Sharpton has now threatened to sue Rush over his comments in the article.
“Unless Mr. Limbaugh apologizes and clarifies his statements, attorneys for Rev. Sharpton will move forward with a lawsuit,” said a written statement released yesterday by Sharpton’s spokeswoman.
Oh, I can’t wait! I – Cannot- Wait!
Please, Al ,Please — Sue Rush Limbaugh! I can’t WAIT to have the whole Tawanna Brawley thing re-hashed in open court. I can’t wait to have introduced into evidence the inflammatory thetoric and race-baiting you did before the Freddy’s Fashion Mart riot.
I can’t wait to see Rush win — and take every damned red cent you have.
Please Al — you have EVERYTHING to lose and nothing whatsoever to gain.
