There’s a great article over at Breitbart.com today HERE that makes some very good points about why John McCain lost the Presidential race in 2008.  Namely, that Steve Schmidt, McCain’s race manager, was too self-absorbed and inexperienced to run such a campaign; NOT that Sarah Palin was any kind of liability to the ticket.

The article further implies that the trashing of Sarah Palin that continues today is primarily due to Steve Schmidt’s friends and minions trying to salvage his lifetime losing streak.

The 42 year-old New Jersey native’s campaign experience started with work for four failed state and national races during his mid to late twenties—ranging from the Kentucky Attorney General’s race in 1995 to working as Communication Director for Lamar Alexander’s 2000 presidential bid. He also managed failed Lt. Governor and Senatorial bids in California in 1998. (more…)

National Review Online has a chilling couple of paragraphs HERE from Victor Davis Hanson that should give us all pause, as well as pointing out the utter stupidity of the Obama Regime:

Meanwhile, when the recovery begins in earnest (and it will elsewhere without U.S. style massive borrowing), interest rates will climb, and oil will again become scarce. Then we will rue our decisions in 2009 not to cut government spending, and not to start massive exploitation of new-found natural gas, vast deposits of oil in Alaska and offshore, and fast-tracking of nuclear plants. It will not take much of a climb in interest rates to make the servicing of even the current debt crushing. And should gas hit $4 a gallon, when oil, new natural gas finds, and nuclear power went untapped amid Al Gore-Van Jones-like sermonizing, the present Tea Parties will seem tame in comparison with a new round of populist anger. Nothing quite ticks people off like $1.50 more a gallon at the pump, and the knowledge that local, state, and federal tax increases led to greater, not lesser, annual deficits, together with cuts, not expansions, in public services.

Impacting hard, oh, say about Christmastime or so . . . .

If you’re like me, the first thing You did when you received an e-mail saying that the moon was full of UFOs or that President Obama was a Kenyan trained Ninja assasin, you went off to SNOPES.com to see what the deal was with those crazy e-mails. And for the most part, SNOPES has been a reliable informant on the truth about these Urban legends.

Or . . . apparently not. I began to notice that Snopes was taking more of a Leftist tack with things I obviously knew to be true, and was unwilling to revise their opinion when things went more for the right-wing than the lefties. This message board post HERE agrees, especially when it comes to politics; and especially lefty politics.

(And just in case this Message Board post “disappears,” I’ve reprinted the post in toto so it will be archived. Should the author have any problems with that, they can contact me and we’ll fix it post-haste; but as of this printing they haven’t responded to my e-mails.)

For those of you that think snopes is god when it comes to knowing the truth or not. By the way you might want to check this out on snopes.

I present this for your own evaluation.
Who “Snopes” are was written up in READERS DIGEST and agrees with this account.
(no politcal bias was mentioned in the article).

For the past few years http://www.snopescom/ has positioned itself, or others have labeled it, as the ‘tell-all final word’ on any comment, claim and email. But for several years people tried to find out who exactly was behind snopes.com. Only recently did Wikipedia get to the bottom of it – kinda makes you wonder what they were hiding. Well, finally we know. It is run by a husband and wife team – that’s right, no big office of investigators and researchers, no team of lawyers. It’s just a mom-and-pop operation that began as a hobby. David and Barbara Mikkelson in the San Fernando Valley of California started the website about 13 years ago and they have no formal background or experience in investigative research. After a few years it gained popularity believing it to be unbiased and neutral, but over the past couple of years people started asking questions who was behind it and did they have a selfish motivation?

The reason for the questions – or skepticisms – is a result of Snopes.com claiming to have the bottom line facts to certain questions or issue when in fact they have been proven wrong. Also, there were criticisms the Mikkelsons were not really investigating and getting to the ‘true’ bottom of various issues.

A few months ago, when my State Farm agent Bud Gregg in Mandeville hoisted a political sign referencing Barack Obama and made a big splash across the Internet, ‘supposedly’ the Mikkelson’s claim to have researched this issue before posting their findings on snopes.com. In their statement they claimed the corporate office of State Farm pressured Gregg into taking down the sign, when in fact nothing of the sort ‘ever’ took place. I personally contacted David Mikkelson (and he replied back to me) thinking he would want to get to the bottom of this and I gave him Bud Gregg’s contact phone numbers – and Bud was going to give him phone numbers to the big exec’s at State Farm in Illinois who would have been willing to speak with him about it. He never called Bud. In fact, I learned from Bud Gregg that no one from snopes.com ever contacted anyone with State Farm.

Yet, Snopes.com issued a statement as the ‘final factual word’ on the issue as if they did all their homework and got to the bottom of things – not!

Then it has been learned the Mikkelson’s are very Democratic (party) and extremely liberal. As we all now know from this presidential election, liberals have a purpose agenda to discredit anything that appears to be conservative. There has been much criticism lately over the Internet with people pointing out the Mikkelson’s liberalism revealing itself in their website findings.

Gee, what a shock?

So, I say this now to everyone who goes to snopes.com to get what they think to be the bottom line fact ‘proceed with caution.’ Take what it says at face value and nothing more. Use it only to lead you to their references where you can link to and read the sources for yourself. Plus, you can always Google a subject and do the research yourself. It now seems apparent that’s all the Mikkelson’s do. After all, I can personally vouch from my own experience for their ‘not’ fully looking into things.

http://http//www.wikipedia.org/ or http://http//www.snopes.com/

I have found this to be true also! Many videos of Obama I tried to verify on Snopes and they said they were False. Then they gave their liberal slant! I have suspected some problems with Snopes for some time now, but I have only caught them in half-truths. If there is any subjectivity they do an immediate full left rudder.

Truth or Fiction, is a better source for verification, in my opinion.
TruthOrFiction.com-Is that forwarded email Truth or Fiction? Research into stories, scams, hoaxes, myths, and urban legends on the Internet

I have recently discovered that Snopes.com is owned by a flaming liberal and this man is in the tank for Obama. There are many things they have listed on their site as a hoax and yet you can go to You tube yourself and find the video of Obama actually saying these things. So you see, you cannot and should not trust Snopes.com, ever for anything that remotely resembles truth! I don’t even trust them to tell me if email chains are hoaxes anymore.

A few conservative speakers on MySpace told me aboutSnopes.com. A few months ago and I took it upon myself to do a little research to find out if it was true. Well, I found out for myself that it is true. Anyway just FYI please don’t use Snopes.com anymore for fact checking and make your friends aware of their political leanings as well. Many people still think Snopes.com is neutral and they can be trusted as factual. We need to make sure everyone is aware that that is a hoax in itself.

Thank you,

Now mind you, Snopes is still a good resource for the weird chain mails and such.  I just wouldn’t trust tem with anything political.

From KVAL in ever-so-liberal Portland, Oregon; comes this story of peaceful Liberals offended at the Police (naturally), and peacefully expressing their disagreements through tea and cookies seminars.

NOT. {/sarcasm}

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A chanting crowd of at least 200 protesters angry over two recent police-involved shootings marched Monday evening through downtown Portland.

The Oregonian reported that police took at least four people into custody. One officer told dispatchers he had been hit by a rock.

Separately, the Rev. Jesse Jackson was in town Monday. He, too, criticized the recent fatal shootings, calling them “symptoms of a deeper problem of insensitivity and detachment.”

Oh yeah; I’m Suuuuuuuuuuure his being their was completely unrelated to the demonstations. Riiiiiiight. (Parasite!)

On Jan. 29, Officer Ron Frashour shot and killed an unarmed man, Aaron Campbell, in an apartment building parking lot in a situation that started out as a welfare check.

The U.S. Justice Department has launched a civil rights investigation into the shooting of Campbell, 25.

On March 22, Officer Jason Walters shot and killed Jack Dale Collins, a 58-year-old homeless man who reportedly was causing a disturbance in Hoyt Arboretum. The officer said he fired when Collins came at him with a knife and refused to drop the weapon.

Jackson said the lack of resources available to homeless people is an “an embarrassment to the church and to the state.”

Well, not to point out the obvious, Reverend Dumbass, but what has YOUR church done to help the homeless lately? (Oh that’s right – you don’t actually HAVE a church you pastor; you just try to extort money from corporations in Chicago. Sorry, forgot that.)

A grand jury is expected to consider the Collins’ shooting later this week.

During a visit in February, Jackson called Campbell’s death an “execution” and criticized a Multnomah County grand jury’s decision to clear Frashour of any wrongdoing. Jackson’s latest visit was planned before the Collins’ shooting.

A police spokeswoman said the Police Bureau didn’t have a response to Jackson’s comments.

During Monday evening’s protest, police used bicycle officers and officers on horseback in an effort to keep the marchers on sidewalks as they followed a route past the federal courthouse, the justice center and the federal building.

At one point, a window was broken in a Bank of America office.

The protest was the latest of several recent demonstrations in reaction to the police shootings.

Monday’s event was promoted by the Cascadia Convergence Network, which called online for a protest march to mark the second-month anniversary of the Campbell shooting.

A group known as the Black Bloc had also posted plans for Monday’s protest, advising members how to split up and evade police detection by bringing a change of clothing.

And how nice that the “Black Bloc” is helping people evade arrest. Isn’t that some kind of crime? Harboring a criminal or something?  Don’t look for anybody in Oregon to even think about prosecuting this as a criminal act, though.

Just out of curiosity, I wonder who Jesse Jackson calls when he’s in trouble? It sure isn’t the cops.

Obama maybe?

The National Review online has a post HERE has what they call “The Complete List of Obama Statement Expiration Dates”

Out here in the Texas heartland, we call them Lies. But NRO has been kind enough not only to quote the quotes, but when he said them. So you can see the origninal statement he made, then how he contradicted himself later.

It’s a LONG list, too. But I don’t see why that’s so surprising form a modern-day Democrat. The truth is, most definitely, not in them anymore. (John 8:44)

Really, Must Read stuff. Bookmark it, even.

So I’m watching this Health Care Horror Show unfold before my very eyes, and I’m getting more and more frustrated with the smirks on the faces of our Idiot President and Joe “Smiley the Drunk” Biden (whose mama apparently never taught him not to say certain words in public).  And I’m watching the Interwebs and seeing that the Republicans – most notably my own Senator and Secretary of the Senate Republican Caucus John Cornyn – have gone all wobbly about whether they actually WANT to repeal the Obamacare Obamanation or not.

And they haven’t bothered to ask US if we want it repealed, have they?

Apparently, the Democraps aren’t the only ones having communication problems with their constituents.

And I keep thinking that both the Dems and the wobbly Republicans need to be shown who the heck is in charge here –meaning We, the People.

Something simple so that a maximum number of people could participate.  The big rallies we had last year were nice, but a LOT of people who wished they had gone now, I’m sure . . . didn’t get to attend.

And that may be a plus for our side. Keep this as simple as possible. Low-tech. Low-Key, but noticeable.  And these are my thoughts:

  • TAKE THE DAY OFF — APRIL 16th, 2010.  It would be great if we shut down the economy completely, but I seriously doubt that would happen. But you can take your kids out of school for a family trip. Take a Personal Day at work. Call in sick. Call in ugly, for that matter. Just make your absence noticeable.
  • Meet somewhere at noon local time to Pray.  If you can get to Washington, get to Washington. Clog the streets. Assemble (peacefully, mind you) outside the centers of power; Congress, Supreme Court, White House.  If you CAN’T get to Washington, go to your local state capitol.  If you can’t get there, meet at the flagpole at your post Office. It’s the “Flash Mob” theory; we appear, we pray, we leave.  No shouting, no violence, no demonstations; just here and gone.
  • Bring A Copy of the Constitution With You to the Flash Mob.  Democrat or Republican or Libertarian; if you’re NOT for the Constitution, you’re not really much of an American, are you?
  • Clog Up The System. Commit acts of Civil Disobedience all day long, and particularly from noon to 1:00 pm local time — i.e., “lunch hour.”  If you’re in town, drive 20 mph during that time. If you’re on the Interstate, drive 55 mph. Slow everything down to a slow crawl. Let the masses FEEL your displeasure.
  • Call Your Congressman and Senators all day long.   Flood their switchboards. Tell them (if they fought Obamacare, the Stimulus, et al.) that you support what they were doing. If they voted FOR obamacare, the Stimulus, etc., let them know how unhappy you are. Remind them they have to come back and LIVE in your district when you vote them out of Congress in November; and make sure you’re clear that you’re doing everything to make that happen.
  • Call Bart Stupak and His Friends and Let Them Know How you Feel. Eagle Scouts, Elks, Knights of Columbus, National Guard, the American Legion, Wildlife Unlimited, and your local parish priests. Tell them how Stupak sold out Unborn Life for a few airports in his district. Ask them if there’s any way he can be removed from those organizations. Excommunication should be a real, viable option here.
  • Money Bomb the Conservative Candidates. It doesn’t have to be much, but give five dollars, ten dollars; whatever you can afford to your local conservative candidate. Five bucks is less than what you’ll probably spend on beer this weekend, right?  If you’re happy with your candidates or don’t have an  election this year, give money to a good out-of-state candidate. Mario Rubio in Florida. Marlin Stutzman in Indiana. There’s a ton of them: find one and donate.

I’m open to suggestions; and any big organization that wants to take this and run with it, be my guest.

Post your suggestions and thoughts in the Comments Section. Let’s get this ball rolling.  This is not Me, per se; it’s WE, THE PEOPLE.

Get a Move on, cowboy.

The revolution is being broadcast on <a href=”http://www.twitter.com”>Twitter,</a&gt; as Conservatives rush to block the impending Obamacare Obamanation.

America is on the move. But why, really?  What is this thing that so energize both sides of the political spectrum?  It’s a highly divisive issue that really moves both sides to their roots, and here’s why:

Pres. (allegedly) Barack Hussein Obama, doing his Louis Farrakhan impression

Democrats (and Liberals) see this as the mother lode of all Social Welfare Programs. This is true, unadulterated cradle-to-grave socialism. It’s a way to guarantee that they will be in power forever. They can throw around veiled references to how bad it will be if Republicans take away their “entitlement” to Healthcare.

Conservatives see this as a death knell to the Free Enterprise system. I saw a guy on Facebook asking “which is more important; Freedom or Capitalism?”  The truth is, the two are interdependent. Capitalism can’t survive or flourish without some form of Freedom. There’s a reason it’s called “Free Enterprise. The version of Capitalism in use currently in China is highly regulated, strictly enforced, tightly legislated . . . and extremely powerful. Already it’s made more changes in China than have occurred in the last 3000 years — which is driving the Chinese leadership to distraction.

And that distraction means more freedom for China.

Which leads to more capitalism. Interdependent, see?

Rush Limbaugh said on his radio show today “This is Tyranny!” when referring to the Healthcare bill. Here’s why:

It will require — not suggest, but require under penalty of law — that everyone purchase Health Insurance. If you don’t you pay a $5000 fine, and you will be enrolled in the government’s form of single-payer Healthcare.

Where’s the freedom? Is it a good idea to NOT have healthcare insurance, No, but you can’t tell me that guys like Rush Limbaugh or Warren Buffet – who can pay cash for their healthcare — should be REQUIRED to enroll in the government healthcare.

And it’s a basic grab at the personal choices of the individual. That’s YOU, folks.

"Precious -Precious Healthcare!"

When a government becomes so oppressive that it requires that all citizens perform some task or make the same choice as all other citizens – the citizenry has no more CHOICE.

And that is Tyranny, purely and simply. And these imbeciles pushing for this against all the will of the people — are by no means representatives of the people as the constitution dictates they be.

And if you think we will be able to repeal this mess of a bill in November when we vote in new conservative representatives — you’ve got another think coming.  This is a logistical nightmare; a black hole of red tape that rivals even the Gordian knot.

It’s the chinese finger puzzle of all chinese finger puzzles.

It will fundamentally affect Healthcare companies in America do business — and will very likely drive many of them out of business.  And from that point there is no going back. Ever.

Now, I want to back up for a minute. Past the rhetoric. Past the finger puzzles. Past the questions of Liberty or Tyranny. Ask yourself one question.  I’m a Christian, so I’ll address this primarily from a Christian perspective.

Will this help people or hurt them?

Think about that for a second. Will help, or hurt?

Well, it will take away basic freedoms. It will fundamentally change the way we do business. It will put oppressive taxes on the citizens (most countries with governmental healthcare have taxes in the 60-80% range. Look it up.)  It will reduce coverage for most people and only extend coverage to 95% of all American — meaning 5% will STILL be without Healthcare.

How is ANY of that BETTER???

None of it is any better.  None of us would want this for ourselves or our families.

So under the “Do unto others” rule (which applies to most major religions -I’ve read your books, buddhists) and under the “welfare of the poor” rule in Islam, it does not meet the requirements of any of the major religions.

And don’t even get me started on the “government funded abortions” thing.

This is Tyrrany. This is Anti-religion. This is anti-freedom.

The revolution has started; and President Obama started it.

Call your congressman. Call your Senator. Call your Governor and local legislator. Texans, call Governor “Do-Nothing” Perry who was so big on the Tenth Amendment during the primaries and is suddenly silent now.

Call them. Call them now. Call them tomorrow. Call them Saturday.

As one pundit observed on the Glenn Beck Show today, this bill will be passed on a Sunday — during Lent — that will keep your legislators out of church when they need it the most.

That can NOT be a good thing.

Call them Call them now.  877-762-8762, or 202-224-3121, or 202-225-3121.

As Rush observed on his website, “If the phones are busy, call again. That’s the POINT!
